Kevin + Emily = Married!

Some of you may remember Kevin and Emily from an earlier post regarding their engagement. Well, they went and got married, just as they were threatening to do.

I have to say that they were TROOPERS. They were married at 1 Fort Mason in San Francisco, overlooking the bay. After the ceremony the wind blew in and almost everyone chickened out of having formals outside. Everyone except Kevin and Emily that is! They really wanted to have the photos there, and I’m so glad as I feel they turned out beautifully. Even if we did lose one of Emily’s veils over the bluff! As it floated away (and just out of my hands) Emily said, “Oh never mind, I still have one left and that’s all that matters.”

One great surprise of the day? How adorable Emily’s sisters are. All four of them seemed to be the best friends ever, and frequently when I would look over I would see all of them standing together, arms linked or holding hands, chatting and laughing away. At the end of the night I let Emily and Kevin know that there were 15 minutes left, so if they had any last minute photo ideas to let me know. Well, they did. One of the sisters ran up to me and asked if I could catch them playing with the lanterns. I have to admit that I didn’t really know what they were suggesting, it was pitch black outside, but I thought oh what the heck, lets go with it. As we were walking down the stairs Kevin’s sister took off her high heels and ran to catch up yelling, “Don’t forget the new sister!”. Um. How cute is that?!?!

Once we were downstairs is when I learned that they had equipped the lanterns with little lights. I wish I could take credit for the resulting pictures but all I can say is that I was blessed to be able to work with such lively happy people, and they were blessed that they chose a photographer who loves working with low light. Any other combination might not have produced such images, beautiful yes, but not these.

I love weddings.

Enjoy!

Chelsea + Sean = Engaged!!

Okay, Chelsea and Sean are actually married at this point, so sorry, but this is another one of those posts that is simply out of order. Soon I’ll be caught up!

Oh goodness. Should I find some wood to knock on? Sheesh.

For this engagement session we travelled to Bodega Bay, a place of sentimental value for both Chelsea and sean. In true Terra fashion I dragged them all around… oh? You didn’t know I drag people around on their portrait sessions? Well I do, otherwise how would they get so many cool and awesome photos?? Mandate one, listen to your photographer, yes you may be volunteering for an experiment, but at least it will be a cool experiment. Places visited; boat dock, beach (2 separate locations, first cool location Sean’s suggestion), and random field we found while we were looking for an abandoned house I could see from the road. Abandoned house, you are lucky you are not close by or I would come back and hunt you down.

Pete + Desiree = Married!!

Pete and Desiree were married in Ben Lomond in a cute wedding that was very much their own, lots of colors, lots of cute little details (I fell in love with their favors, a cute little box filled with a treat), and of course them. One of my favorite points of the day was when Pete took out his guitar (the one I had Desiree pose with earlier) and serenaded her with Adam Sandler’s song, ‘Grow Old With You’. We all think of Adam Sandler as your classic yuk yuk man, but we sometimes forget that he also writes songs that can be surprisingly light hearted and just a bit touching.

I haven’t had too much time to convert many of their images for web BUT, I have had a chance to set up a few photos featuring the cool new texture technique that I’m currently playing with. To view more photos please click on their slideshow to start it up. Enjoy!

Peter + Marissa = Married!

Peter and Marissa were married in a very unique ceremony at the Swedish American Hall in San Francisco. Directly following their ceremony they were followed outside, down the stairs, and around the block by their band. Wow is about all I can say. Please enjoy the photos, slideshow, and cool new textures that I’m enjoying playing around with.

PS

I love the gas station pic as I imagine one day they will look back and say, “Remember how cheap it was??”.
