Hans + Missy = Married!

Whew! Last week was a whirlwind! Sorry I haven’t been present, but let’s see what I can come up with this week! In the meantime I’d like to introduce the wedding of Hans and Missy. Recently I had the opportunity to work with Tammy of Red Loft Studios. I have to admit that I was super excited. Not only is Red Loft Studios a prominent wedding photography studio, Tammy is super talented*. I haven’t had the chance to second shoot in quite a while, almost a year in fact, and so I found myself looking forward to it more and more as the date approached.

Hans and Missy were married at Wine and Roses in Lodi, CA. The day was beautiful. The couple was beautiful. And since I was not the main photographer, I got to be ignored and take more candid shots than I’ve been privy to in ages. Here are some of my favorites. From Missy getting ready, to the couple’s reveal prior to the ceremony, you can see just how special a wedding can be. Congratulations to them, and thank you to Red Loft for choosing me to take part.

Enjoy!

*Note to self, try to say ‘super’ less often.

The Tale of Izzy (or I really need to get a purse camera)

The funny thing about being a photographer is that people assume my house is covered in photos. Not all that true. In fact… barely true. You see, you seem a bit conspicuous when carrying around a ten pound bag of gear. Also, I have been known to drink when I go out. Don’t drink and carry expensive photo equipment should really be a bumper sticker. On my car.

In any case, I don’t have a purse camera. You know, those tiny cute things that everyone has in their purse or shirt pocket? The ones that capture all kind of moments, some that your friends and/or family wish you hadn’t. Instead I have my trusty camera phone. Also known as my dogs least favorite torture device. Observe:

The day starts out innocently enough. Isatai (aka Izzy) is simply hoping for a walk, a treat, perhaps some cuddle time.

He soon remembers that his owner has an addiction to sunglasses, suffers from random bouts of boredom, and also has a camera phone. What does this mean? Not only does she take incriminating photos, she then sends them to people immediately.

Luckily for him I sent this photo to the wrong person, my mother, who then came to rescue him. Here he is escaping in the get away car.

The End

ps

sorry, I know this isn’t wedding stuff, but I’m just returning from a few days and am prepping for a big week next week. Stay tuned!
