Justin + Ruthie = Engagement Session!

So, I sort of went to High School with Ruthie. Or rather, she went there right after I graduated and knows some of the same guys that I do. How did we figure this out? Especially since I’m not exactly in the habit of running around asking, where did you go to high school? Do you know so and so? Yes, I know tons of people actually do that. However I’ve always had the opinion that the world is a great big big place, and the chance of you and I knowing the same people? Small. Of course I’m constantly proved wrong. So when I posted the pics I took of my good friend Jimmy’s wedding, voila, Ruthie knew him. You may remember that I love shooting in new places, and hate feeling as if I’m doing the same old thing. So when I planned a short get away to Lake Tahoe I just started itching. Who did I know who I could take photos of? Ruthie and her Fiance Justin didn’t seem that far of a jump. They were getting married, needed engagement photos, I am their photographer, and I feel like I sort of know her already. Still, when I sent the email I hoped that I didn’t come off as creepy.

Luckily I didn’t creep her out at all! Once I got into Lake Tahoe I started scouting for cool sites. Cool lake? Check. Cool creek covered in snow? Check. Cool white trees looking slightly creepy? Check! Snow. Check! Here are the engagement photos we took along with the slideshow. If you routinely read my blog but don’t watch the slideshows, I have to say that you are totally missing out. The slideshows are LOVELY. If it doesn’t play right away just click several times, it will get the hint I promise. On to the photos!

PS

Justin was so sweet to Ruthie the whole time! He made all of her snowballs and consistently walked ahead of her in the snow so she could follow his path. Wow Ruthie! Good job on finding a great guy!

I know Ruthie from TheKnot.com. She was upset about her last e-pics with a different photographer and so she signed with Terra, just like I did! And just like me, she is thrilled! Terra’s just great and it shows in Ruthie’s pictures. Beautiful and fun.

As always, Terra, your pictures are breathtaking! I don’t even know these people but I can feel the love they have for each other swelling through the images. I wish that you had photographed me when I was young and in love! They are so fortunate to have found you and now have these beautiful pictures to look back on and treasure! Keep up the good work! You have a gift~
