Karla + Rustin = Married!

These two had an amazing wedding that was not only pulled off from across the country, New York, but also had so many amazing touches from their family that it was beyond special. Just to give you an idea:

Their wedding cake was made by the groom’s mother who decorated it with help from the best man’s wife.

The bridesmaid’s dresses were made by a friend of the bride (amazing huh???).

The ceremony dress was purchased in the states but altered in the Phillipines by a family friend. Karla’s aunts were visiting the Phillipines at the time the alterations were completed, so they took it home with them to Canada. At that time Karla, Rustin, and her mother made the trip up to pick it up. I think it’s really sweet how very much their family was involved!

Another family friend made the bride’s bouquet, but didn’t stop there. She taught them how to make the centerpieces, decorative flower arrangements, and bouquets for the bridesmaids! I have to admit this is a talent I sincerely admire as when I put a bunch of flowers together it really looks like I, or a small child, did it. That’s not fair though as I’ve seen small children put together miniature bouquets much easier and prettier than mine.

When looking through the photos please take note of one of my favorite elements: The tissue pom-poms. Those, along with all of the other decorations, seating cards, favor boxes, petal cones, etc., were done by Rustin’s talented aunt.

Karla and Rustin are such an easy going smiley couple. I loved photographing their day and hearing about their kitty’s during the planning process. I have two kitties of my own, so, yeah. I’m a total sucker. I loved the fact that their cats made a debut at the ceremony as well with pictures of them placed on the tables. Weddings are a love affair, and the details always reveal how very much that is true.

Congrats on a beautiful wedding you two!!
