...to my blog. Here you'll find the latest news about me (YAY), recent photos, ramblings, projects, and hopefully some humor. If you're new here, please feel free to poke around, search my categories, and post any comments. If you are returning, welcome back, I hope I have something new to show you!
Just in case you're wondering, who is Terra? What makes her tick? Okay, you're probably not wondering all that, but still I'd like to let you know that for me photography has led me to the best career ever. I feel so blessed to have been let into such intimate moments of peoples lives, to have the power to cause them to shed tears of joy, to have been hugged by so very many of them, it's beyond words. So although (of course) I love photography, what really drives me are the moments the camera records, and the drive to catch more than an image, but the texture of your skin, the way even the air felt that day. I hope, in the end, my images live up the reality. Please enjoy.
These two were so great on their engagement session! We had decided to shoot in Niles Canyon, taking advantage of the quaint downtown, cute little suburbs, and the beautiful scenery. Well, to add to that Lili picked out some really beautiful props to bring along, did an amazing job on their wardrobe, and even had her trial hair and makeup, with the fabulous Nina Barbosa, on the same day.
What do all these, thrown into the same pot make for? Gorgeous pictures!! I can’t wait for their wedding!
I remember distinctly the first time I spoke with Karen because of just how short the conversation was. She asked me if I was available, a few other small details, and then said, I’d like to hire you.
I was a little shocked, but, I had my whole spiel! My bio, experience, etc. Patiently she interrupted me letting me know she had been following my work online. She loved it. She’d made her decision, no spiel needed! Which is good for me, but still, I’ve been looking forward to meeting her and Albert in person and having the chance to get to know them a bit better.
So what can I say now? After having met them? I can say that Karen has amazing taste. I loved her outfits, the amazing props that she had found at a local antique store, and the vision of her wedding day she described to me. At one point I said to her, these pics are uh-may-zing. They belong in an Anthropologie magazine! You know what? She knew exactly what I meant! And Albert? In the short time I spent with him he struck me as a genial guy, with an easy laugh and relaxed nature that made me positive Karen had found a great guy to share her life with. Enough said, on to the images!
Oh, and don’t forget to check out the slideshow, which is, of course, mandatory cuteness.

Kneeling down in the grass I became quite blinded by the sun. This happens quite frequently I have to admit! Normally I get exactly what I’m going for. This time, the image is not framed the way I had imagined, and the overall effect is a bit off from my original intention. However? I love what we ended up with. Look at that grass, is it just me or is it like a painting? Beautiful.
This is when my nerves started singing, “Anthropologie!”
Just so you know, I’m never sure which name should go first. In fact, I’m still not all that sure, HOWEVER, I’ve noticed recently that on all wedding invitations the woman’s name is always listed first. So I’ve decided to follow this rule as well!
Ha, sorry, I’m definitely off topic aren’t I?
Virginia and Lik-See met at church. They knew each other for a while, and although Virginia hoped right away that Lik-See would ask her out, it took him a bit to work up his nerve. When he finally did they visited this park on their first date. So it’s so nice to see it here in their engagement photos.
When we were planning their engagement session I asked them to share with me the things they liked to do together as a couple. Their answer? We like to play a lot, and food. We love food! I hope these pictures tell a bit of their story as a couple. Please enjoy!

When I decided to do this photo, honestly I didn’t think it worked. Then, looking at it later on my computer screen, I completely changed my mind. I think it’s so cute!
If you think these are cute? Check out the slideshow!
I love that picture in the grass, too! I’m glad that you updated with some new blog posts…I love looking at your pictures. I’m SO excited for our session tomorrow!
These two met while taking a course together at college. When it came time to do their engagement session it only made sense that not only would we re-visit the campus, they’d also bring along the text book from that very same class. The downside of shooting at, or anywhere near, Stanford? I always, ALWAYS, end up wanting to take a nap. Well, that’s me at any rate. For Eric it created a jamba juice craving. This summer these two will get married at the home of Eric’s parents. I just can’t wait!
[...] think that 20 years from now, this happy couple will have become a happy family. Congratulations Eric and Carolyn, so glad that I was able to share these moments with [...]
