I’m off for a fabulous outdoor wedding in Foresthill. It is sure to be beautiful and on top of watching two people get married I also get to see some past clients! Isn’t that amazing? While I’m gone I wanted to leave you with this great image from Natalie and Milton’s wedding. The full preview when I return!

Official 2009 Packages!

Okay, I hate to ramble, but I’m super excited about my 2009 Packages, they’ve been streamlined, updated, and made so super simple it gives me tingles. Coverage begins at $2400 and all packages now include the following:

2 Photographers Day of Coverage
Complimentary Engagement Session
Complimentary DVD of Hi Res Images with Album purchase
Album Credit

Kiss the Bride:

6 Hours of Coverage
$1000 Album Credit

Going to the Church:

Unlimited Day of Coverage
Rehearsal Coverage (up to three hours)

Pretty cool huh? When I created these packages I really wanted to make them not only super simple, but also include what I myself would want as a bride. Of course, I’m not every bride (or even one at all ;p), so please note that these packages are completely customizable. In fact, Kiss the Bride is meant to have hours added for those who are looking for more coverage. Any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at info@terratabbytosavit.com

Happy Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is sort of my anniversary with my boyfriend. I’m not a particularly gushy person, believe this or not from a wedding photographer, so I can’t say I’m fond of this date. However we did officially have our first date right beforehand, and I was one of a few girls that he sent a Happy Valentine’s email to.

Doesn’t that make him sound all player like? Ha! I guess he would like to think so. And maybe he was. But like most girls I like to convince my man that if I wouldn’t have him? No one would.

That’s right.

He’d live a lonely life of tv dinners and speed dating.

See? Now I’m a savior!

The exact date we became a couple was a few weeks later, was definitely in February, but is lost to both he and I. See? Neither one of us is very gushy.

Besides Valentine’s and an anniversary this weekend, I’m off to a photography Convention. WPPI hosts a huge convention in Las Vegas that shows off an incredible amount of talented vendors. Ones that make albums with leather covers, photo covers, and yes, even water and fire resistant covers! Also there are canvas wraps, camera straps sure to save my shoulder from pain, bags with so many pockets I could carry an extra assistant and never even notice! Okay, maybe I exaggerate. Still, I will be like a kid in a candy store. When I return I will share pictures of all the lovely things they tried to make me pay a gazillion dollars for.

=)

Until next Tuesday, my best to you and your loved ones. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Morse code for: I swear I have not flat lined on you.

First things first, thank you thank you thank you thank you for all of your lovely comments!

Ahem. Dear mom. I noticed no comments from you, apparently you don’t love me. Just kidding. I got 18 great comments in a very short amount of time! What you didn’t know was that I had been planning on donating a minimum of $30 to the food bank, which is exactly what I did.

At this time I would love to plug a wonderful program that Lucky’s was doing, and I noticed the other day, has continued to do. When you are checking out you can buy a $20 or$10 bag of groceries. It’s that simple. Simply tell them how much, and they fill it up for you. Isn’t that awesome? I think that this is such an important time for us to donate and attempt to help out in any possible way that we can. Just the other day I heard that for the first time since California’s unemployment agency began collecting number in the 60’s, we are now approaching double digits in the unemployment stats.

That’s right. Double digits.

Most of our dramatic loss can be seen in the construction field as that has been the hardest hit industry considering it relies almost primarily on growth. This is also close to my heart. Many of my family has been or is currently involved in construction. Whether on the commercial side or industrial. Luckily they are all well and safe, and totally awesome at what they do, but it makes me wonder about all of those lower on the ladder, or working for smaller companies. Are they safe? Are they worried about feeding their families?

If you are in the position to help, I hope that you do, my prayers are with all those hard working Americans and Californians who find themselves in need of our generosity.

Please stay tuned, I have more e-session pics, wedding pics, and the long awaited continuance to The Shooting Range.

That’s right. More eye candy!

PS

Since I’ve been gone I’ve had over 2000 spam comments. That’s right. 2000. Yet somehow over the holidays they stopped?? This makes me realize. Spammers are real people too.

Jerks.

But real people. I hope none of my $30 goes to them.

Cans for Comments!

I found this from Anne Ruthman’s Blog. Not only is Anne a fellow member of Pictage (how I discovered her!) she’s also a super talented photographer with a great passion for using her photography to help when she can. She not only held the cans for comments marathon on her blog, her wedding bee posts, AND her business blog, she also generated 300 comments. That’s right! 300 cans of food.

Now on a personal note I have to say that I donate a gift to a child every year. If I forget and it’s perilously close to Christmas I can be found running desperately through a mall, toy in hand, looking for a donation bin. I almost cried one year when I thought I was too late. Luckily I found a bin (hence no crying) but forever after I’ve remembered that experience. This year I have my toy already donated, but I have to admit, it saddens me to hear on the news how many families find themselves going hungry, as they never have before, in these tough economic times. I would never say that I’m a humanitarian, but I would admit I’ve been known to give away my last dollar, make my boyfriend turn around, drive home, and pull out a jacket he hasn’t worn in ages to give to someone in need, but I’ll also say that I’ve never regretted it. And this year I find myself in a position to give, so I’d love to participate in this. And I’d love to have my blog involved in that giving as well.

I’ve borrowed a video from super talented Jerk with a Camera. You’ll notice that his marathon ended on Dec. 12, 2008. Since I’m obviously starting late, mine will end on Dec. 20, 2008. Close to the holidays? Yes. But I don’t believe that just because I found this band wagon too late means that I shouldn’t jump on. For each person that posts a comment on my blog I will donate a can of food to the foodbank, please comment. On the 21st I will make sure to share the results, as well as thank you all for your participation. Please note that you can comment on any post you wish, I do receive an email regarding each and every comment, and if you feel a bit stuck you can also comment on this post with your favorite canned food (suggestions you know!).

Hope you are all having wonderful holidays!

Featured!

Elizabeth Anne Designs is a visually delicious wedding blog. Filled with beautiful photos of color themed weddings, favors/centerpiece/decoration ideas, you can easily lose three times the amount of time that you had originally planned.

On the advice of one of my lovely fans/hopefully future clients, I went ahead and submitted one of the weddings I had photographed. This particular wedding is lovely Alex and Rachel’s. Almost immediately I heard back that they would love to feature the photos. Wow! I’ve never submitted anywhere before, so I thought there would be a much more difficult process. Not quite rings of fire and lakes full of snapping piranhas, but challenging none the less. No such thing here!

Perhaps I’m that great? Hrm. Ha, I guess I will have to start submitting more often to find out!

PUBLISHED!!

Hi All, so I’ve been keeping this a bit under wraps, but I did a fashion spread for a national magazine a while ago, Six7*8th, and it just hit the stands! It’s a girl’s magazine, specifically aimed at girls grade, yes, you guessed it, 6, 7, and 8th. This magazine is a super cute junior high life style magazine and can be picked up at your local Safeway or Barnes and Noble. I heart Barnes and Noble.

I’ve known for a while that this should be hitting the newstands for July/August, and that Abigail Breslin would be on the cover. What I didn’t know was that Claire’s Accessories would be running a feature for the magazine, offering a free issue, AND showcasing my spread. Follow this link and just try to guess how psyched I was to see this. Quick tip though, wondering how to turn the pages and actually see the preview? Well, so was I. Once you see talented lil Abigail’s face scroll your mouse over to the top right corner. This will peel the page down. Once you click on it, it will actually turn the page. This is when, BAM, you see my pics and name full force.

I had such a great time shooting this spread. The kids were awesome to work with, Angie, the publisher, is beyond great, and the day went unbelievably smooth. Having this be my first spread made for a bit of nervousness on my part, but I think the final results are great. In addition, if you actually pick up the magazine you’ll get to see me on page five taking some shots. Sneaky Angie grabbed my second camera and began taking some candids. Think she would take a gig as my second shooter? Ha, seriously, she took some keepers!

Also, for any of you that have read my bio, you might have read that I once craved to be a writer. To have my name in print and for sale, well, it was always my dream. This is a round about way, but I think I still got there. In any case, I’ve picked up a subscription for my super cute sister, just entering junior high, and if you know any girls in the same age range please do the same.

PS

I know I missed blogging on Monday, but in my defense I was trying to figure out how to get the pages of the magazine scanned. I finally gave up and stole them from Claire’s website.

Elizabeth Anne Designs

If you’ve never heard of Elizabeth Anne Designs before I really recommend that you take a trip there. They have some really wonderful ideas, visuals, and great resources. In fact, I’m one of them! Check me out in their library of photographer resources. Need a bridal fix? An after lunch pick me up? Waste some time over there, trust me, it’s an easy thing to do.

So why am I blogging about them? Well let me share their recent announcement:

“We are incredibly excited to announce our new project, The EAD Library.  After months of development and research, we are launching a new resource for brides tomorrow, Tuesday July 22nd.  The Library is filled with hundreds of useful links, from photographers to shops to stationers.  Our goal is a simple, comprehensive list of vendors.  The Library will help every bride, no matter her location, find the vendors and inspiration she needs for a beautiful event. ”
