Kelly & Pat = Married | San Francisco Wedding Photography

Last year I was blessed to photograph Kelly and Pat’s wedding,

wait

I’d like to say something here: I don’t cry at weddings. I used to, a long time ago, and while I still always feel incredibly blessed to be at a wedding watching couples exchange their vows (I get this feeling of being so very close to God when in a room so filled with love), I rarely if ever cry.

Pat and Kelly, you made me cry. Two couples managed to do this last year, catch me off guard with unexpected vows, over the top sentimentality, and love coming from a direction that I just didn’t expect.

Michelle (my second shooter) and I are used to how absolutely fabulous my couples are. We take it in stride. But let me tell you, when I have guest second shooters? They’re not used to how amazing you are! And I regularly catch them crying buckets.

Kelly, Pat, your vows were funny and tender, celebrating both the minutiae of your personalities and your life together as a couple. I wish I had them written down, or that I had a photographic memory, because I often think of your wedding day and wish I could recall the words, the exact words, of you two expressing your love for one another. I never imagined that a reading from Winnie the Pooh could be so perfectly placed in a couples ceremony.

Although I can’t share their vows, I so want to share their details, because it tells a better story than I ever could.

In the following images you will see the squirrel pillows that Kelly’s sorority sisters placed on the benches surrounding the ceremony and reception area. An old inside joke, Kelly received many squirrel inspired gifts that day! Such attention and care was given to all things paper (hello who doesn’t love beautiful handwritten tags?), but family was far from ignored. Their welcome table featured wedding photos from Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and more on both sides. Their cake topper was handed down, and Kelly tied her parent’s rings to her bouquet as she walked down the aisle. The long awaited surprise came at the end of the night when their neighborhood ice cream truck (Kelly chased him down one day as she saw him driving past!), popped in for a late night treat.

I hope you love these images, I hope you’re inspired, and if you are one of my valued 2013 couples, I can’t wait to see what you have in store!

Just stunning, Terra. It was a pleasure to work with you at Kelly & Pat’s wedding and it was an honor to share the day with them!

Thank you, Terra, for capturing the most fantastic day of our lives. These pictures capture a day that was amazing, filled with love, and beyond my every dream! Love them!

Photos are gorgeous! I love their ice cream truck idea! You really captured a beautiful and memorable day. I wish I could have been there to hear the Winnie the Pooh reading.

January New Year New Head Shot | San Francisco Photography

This year I thought, why not kick off January with a new head shot promo? This has been on my own mind as I struggle with, what photo should I use for my own head shot? 99% of the photos are obviously taken by me myself and I, and the others would need to be carefully cropped to disguise the fact that they were taken by a friend or family member at a social event. As you can see, not ideal!

With my studio set up being recently completed I’ve been itching to get in there and start creating. The window light is just calling my name, so a promo was created, emails were sent, Facebook announcements were posted, and the rest was history! I had so much fun doing this that the ‘New Year New Head Shot’ promo may just become an annual event! It fulfills a real need of my clients, and keeps me busy during a time that, ahem, I may have previously considered the month that I get to spend lots and lots of time organizing my closets. So my closets didn’t get as organized… I’d much rather be creating new images!

Here are a few samples of the images we took

and here’s some recent feedback,

“Thanks so much Terra, the photos are fantastic and you were a real help the day of my shoot, thanks again!”

Now you may be wondering, what if I want a more personal head shot?

I started getting this call a lot the last few weeks, because people don’t just need head shots for work, they also need them for Match, and POF, and you know, looking hot reasons? Or just really looking like YOURSELF, rather than a reflected, head tilted version of yourself that you capture in the bathroom mirror and then are forced to post.

Umm. Guys? Side note here, leave your shirt on in those photos.

=)

Well… guess what I found at a recent garage sale??? An absolutely adorable yellow armchair! It’s so photogenic that it’s crazy. You’ll see it appear soon in a fab family session I recently photographed, but that chair? Since then it’s been begging me to be photographed again! And the red brick wall outside is perfect for a more casual fun photo of yourself.

So February? February gets a head shot promo as well, but this time we go outside, we get a bit more colorful (I say that as the obvious understatement that it is!), and we update your online profile photo. Water spots and bathroom tile not included.

Spots are limited, please contact for availability at:

Tim + Pilar = Tanner | San Francisco Wedding Photographer

I met Pilar at a New Year’s Eve party, and truthfully what I mostly remember is how cute and fun she was. Imagine my surprise when she emailed me later to say she had fallen in love with my work, and just as soon as she could get Tim to marry her I was going to photograph their wedding.

Dear Pilar, I loved shooting your engagement session. Playing in Christmas tree fields, meeting your dog Happy, envying your beautiful clothes and effortless style, and seeing, really truly seeing all of the reasons Tim is in love with you. But the more and more I spent time with you, I can see also how lucky you are to have found Tim.

Dear Tim, thank you for honoring Pilar’s request to have pictures… and MORE pictures! You are not, as you informed me, a fan of taking photos, but oh MY GOODNESS you’ve done amazingly well! You both were naturals at your engagement session! On your wedding day? You welcomed me with warm arms and a big smile! Not only that, but you had IDEAS for your photos, and excitement, and were willing to stand on rocks, drive far places, and you know, work it.

That’s right Tim, I just said that you worked it.

Dear Tanner, you are ADORABLE, and according to Tim and Pilar, a surprise. Who knew you would be here so quickly? Apparently you’ve just been waiting for your mommy and daddy to tie the knot so you could stop being a dream inside their heads and a reality in their lives. I have a secret to tell you, your daddy seems to be an awesome, caring, and attentive daddy, I think he’s had lots of very good practice from being an uncle. You want to know another secret? From what I hear in the neighborhood, no one can meet your mommy without instantly falling in love with her. Kiddo. You are in good hands. Right now, you had us all laughing (okay not your mommy so much), because even though you were brand new you decided just like your daddy you weren’t going to be so fond of the camera. But let me tell you one last secret about me. I don’t give up, and you are going to love me too. ;p

Tim and Pilar, how did you escape my blog? Well, your time of reprieve is over! Cue evil laughter? Just kidding! And Tanner! I’ll see you at 3 months! I know I can’t bribe you with candy (yet), but I will give you lots and lots of smiles, deal?

It’s a Valentine’s Day Kind of Gift!!! | San Francisco Wedding Photograhy

Recently I shot a boudoir session here in my studio, and let me tell you something, it reminded me how much I love them! We drink champagne, play music, and I get to play with your hair while the make-up artist does her magic (that’s right, I’m a grown up and STILL get to play Barbie) AND THEN! Oh my gosh and then you turn around and amaze me with your awesome beautifullness! Because Boudoir? Boudoir is you with the volume turned up. Or turned to sexy? Either way, it will blow you away.

I can’t share with you the last images, because her honey has yet to be surprised, but in the meantime take a look at what she had to say about her experience, and what we have to offer.

Talk with you soon!
