...to my blog. Here you'll find the latest news about me (YAY), recent photos, ramblings, projects, and hopefully some humor. If you're new here, please feel free to poke around, search my categories, and post any comments. If you are returning, welcome back, I hope I have something new to show you!
Just in case you're wondering, who is Terra? What makes her tick? Okay, you're probably not wondering all that, but still I'd like to let you know that for me photography has led me to the best career ever. I feel so blessed to have been let into such intimate moments of peoples lives, to have the power to cause them to shed tears of joy, to have been hugged by so very many of them, it's beyond words. So although (of course) I love photography, what really drives me are the moments the camera records, and the drive to catch more than an image, but the texture of your skin, the way even the air felt that day. I hope, in the end, my images live up the reality. Please enjoy.
You know what previews are? Because over here I refer to them as the gateway drug. Ready for your dose?!

When you unzip the dress bag and you see this? Yeah. You totally sigh and ooh and aaah.
I love how much they loved their reveal
Outside looking in.
This I call a happy accident. As I took this shot a guest took a shot, shooting off their flash, at the same exact moment. I wonder what their image looks like?
It was such a lovely, amazing wedding–I know the pics are going to be stunning.

The morning of their wedding I called Lili to let her know I was parked, I was roaming the lobby looking for the perfect first location, and oh could you please let me know your room number? When she answered her voice was just as soft and feminine as I remembered, and it reminded me how lucky I was to capture their day.
Lili and Manuel are just sweet. When Lili saw Manu for the first time that day, she had to stop him and tell him how much he looked like James Bond, and Manu could not stop smiling. One of my favorite shots from the formals is a candid I took of him with the girls. All of the girls were talking and suddenly he got this look on his face, as if he just didn’t know what they were talking about, and was slightly over whelmed. A single man surrounded by lovely ladies! They started laughing and so did he.
Later that evening everyone pulled out their wallets for the Money Dance, and I just am so in love with the last image of Lili and Manuel kissing while holding the hands of the flower girl and ring bearer. During his speech Manu said how lovely and welcoming Lili’s family has been, how he feels so at home with them, and how he wasn’t quite sure what he thought of children before he met her. I can say I was so surprised when he said that because all evening the kids had been crawling on him with so much ease.
When we left my second, Michelle, mentioned how that’s what every woman wants. A man to look at her the way Manu looks at Lili. What can I say? It’s a love story.
You may remember this couple from their super cute engagement session. And now they are ‘Mr. and Mrs.’. Which I think has an amazing ring to it, how about you?
One of the many things I love about a wedding day are toasts. Toasts give you a sense of the community that the couple belongs to. Its the place where their best friends take a mike and tell everyone just how special they are, how lucky they are to know them, and how happy and hopeful they are for their future. It was during toasts that I learned Lik-See had chosen for a while to not have a girlfriend. He thought it would take him away from his religious pursuits. His best man thought that it worked out perfectly, as maybe he was meant to wait all along for Virginia. I have to agree. During the reception they played a version of the shoe game (with portrait paddles!), and every time this couple was asked who was messier, they held up their own paddle. Who was more romantic? They held up the other paddle. They equally thought the other person was better at everything than they themselves were. If that is just a tiny glimpse into how lucky they feel to have found one another, then I feel blessed to have even witnessed that much.
Thank you so much for inviting me to record your special day!
