Vivi + Mike = The Shooting Range!

Of course, they’re also married! It was a beautiful day, and even though the bay area has seemed confused, is it or is it not the summer?, it all fell together.

Viviana and Mike have a great family, and I just love how a part of their lives their families are. It’s not as if they’re just getting married, it’s as if they have been together for years. My favorite part was when the DJ asked everyone who was Colombian raise their hands. Up went Vivianas, and without any hesitation Mike raised his hand too.

Here is a small sample of their fabulous shooting range images! Thanks to my super awesome assistant Michelle who took these! She’s manned the Shooting Range for me at other events, but not a wedding before. I decided she was ready, what do you think?

Valerie + Chantz = Married!

The day of Valerie and Chantz’s wedding was, simply, beautiful. The best weather, the bluest skies, the greenest vineyards, I walked outside and literally basked in the weather. What a wonderful day to celebrate a marriage. So many people traveled for this wedding, many coming from Seattle, and I don’t think you could have picked a more perfect venue to reflect the intimacy of the wedding that they had planned.

Valerie and her mom decorated the ceremony and reception with hand painted stars, and the wedding cake (one I had never seen before) was something Val had been dreaming of since childhood.

I knew from their engagement session what a fun, cute and laid back couple they were, but their wedding day just confirmed it. Standing outside taking their ring shots I looked up and thought, ‘oh my goodness! Where is the light going?’. It was fading a half hour before scheduled! Bad sun. So I hurried inside to grab them for their last romantic shots, and they are beautiful, enchanting, lovely.

I love her little, ‘I do’, on the bottom of her shoes. Chantz’s face when he picks her up? So cute! Of course, he did pretend to have a titanic moment. But don’t we all?

Enjoy!

Virginia + Lik-See = Married!

You may remember this couple from their super cute engagement session. And now they are ‘Mr. and Mrs.’. Which I think has an amazing ring to it, how about you?

One of the many things I love about a wedding day are toasts. Toasts give you a sense of the community that the couple belongs to. Its the place where their best friends take a mike and tell everyone just how special they are, how lucky they are to know them, and how happy and hopeful they are for their future. It was during toasts that I learned Lik-See had chosen for a while to not have a girlfriend. He thought it would take him away from his religious pursuits. His best man thought that it worked out perfectly, as maybe he was meant to wait all along for Virginia. I have to agree. During the reception they played a version of the shoe game (with portrait paddles!), and every time this couple was asked who was messier, they held up their own paddle. Who was more romantic? They held up the other paddle. They equally thought the other person was better at everything than they themselves were. If that is just a tiny glimpse into how lucky they feel to have found one another, then I feel blessed to have even witnessed that much.

Thank you so much for inviting me to record your special day!

Sue + Luke = Married!

Sue and Luke came to me on the recommendation of Pete and Michelle, one of my past couples. The best thing I love about referrals? Getting to see past clients! Pete certainly looked much more relaxed than on the afternoon of his wedding! Ha, who knew weddings could be stressful??

Sue was such an easy going person, a joy to work with, and Luke proved to be just the same. I love how intimate their San Francisco City Hall wedding was. Their day was filled with joy, laughter and hugs. I love these photos so much, and can’t get over them as I look through them. I’m so glad to have been a part of their day, and now you can see a small part of it as well.
